the holidays.

the holdays are fastly approaching....i'll be 28 in a month and 2wks...and right now i am ill with close to 100* temperature. i actually do like this time of year, i feel festive though its hard to at times when its a good 85* outside. i miss my parents around this time of year. family is always important even if one's family is made of relatives, friends, gf/bf or your spouse.

i suppose i just wanted to tell everyone that i am still here even though my blogs are sparse. my everyday like isn't so exciting so there ya go. anyhow, i hope all of you have a great and happy holidays!

Merry Christmas!

i feel the earth move under my feet.

so as some may have heard, there was a 6.6 earthquake in the Hawaiian islands on Sunday morning at about 7am-ish. i was done eating my breakfast, gotten dressed and was standing in the garage playing with my ipod when it hit. first the wind was strong and then the garage was shaking violently and then the house, the windows and the ground. a minute later it was done. all of the islands had the power knocked out. i went back inside my house and cried and saw that everything and everyone was ok. so i went to work. the store was a mess with busted ceiling tiles and glass and bottles overturned on the floor. the shelves were a mess. we all cleaned up and at about 10am the power turned back on. the day was crazy after that. other than that mishap, life is as normal. it was raining hevily all yesterday which was a great change. in all other arenas i am doing well. i've been exhausted lately which is weird cos i don't necessarily overdo it in my daily routine. but i've been very very tired. and forgetting things quite frequently. anyhow! aloha

welcome to the family!

here is the new addition to the family, a new kitty named Puma. a gal and we got her last night and she was found outside of a grocery store in the loading area. obviously a stray but she's cuddly and sleeping next to me on the desk as i type this.

the other cats are no so thrilled but this is the official 1st day so they'll eventually get used to her! as you can see she's all black, a very cat she will be during halloween!!

to the right is tigger, he's a boy cat and very very mellow. he has these amazing stripes and is now the "middle" kitty in the bunch!

and this is precious the "the oldest" of kitties. she's sassy and tempermental but so cuddly when she wants to be.

thus, this is our little kitty family!!!!

letters.

i've been a crappy correspondant. i don't write, hardly email and even call less. why, why, why? in all honesty i felt really disgusted at myself for how i was when i was ATL last. i'm embarassed and ashamed but primarily due to the fact that it was a short 5 or 6 months after my bicycle accident and that i felt very, very insecure. i got a tooth knocked and had not felt myself to be beautiful. now and then i did have a temp. replacement tooth but tis not the same. i feel ok about myself now. plus i'm just a bit lazy. i have the same day, everyday and its nothing worth writing about. but nevertheless i hear from no one and no one hears from me. I'M SO EXTREMELY TIRED! its the lazy days of summer.

i can't wait to leave in a month and a half!! Washington here i come!!!!! sometimes one needs to just get away to experience another life. to breathe the clean air and just drown in the rolling landscapes.

***an aside to Mj- i haven't really heard much of Kate Bush so any cool mix would be welcomed!!!

this thing you call love.

i've been hearing the song "Taxi Ride" by Tori Amos a lot lately. its a great song and the namesake for my blog. at least its the line from the song. "Scarlet's Walk" is a great album.

i've been working a lot lately and sleeping even more. its so hot here and i've been sleeping outrageous amounts. well a few naps here and there that are between 2-5 hours long. i feel like a pre-school kid that has to take the afternoon nap. in pre-school i used to fall asleep at the moment we had to be awaken. everytime. perhaps i sleep out of boredom or laziness. who knows.

but life keeps rolling on and on. i am truly happy with all of my friends, new and old. i am happy 95% of the time, when i'm awake. it also seems like its baby season. i know so many women who are pregnant. its crazy, especially in this heat. good luck to you gals!

smooth.

[smooth] santana and rob thomas

i've been into latin sounding music lately. if one wants one to listen to, try the Gypsy Kings the song "Bamboleo" (this is my favorite!). i do wish i was born hispanic or of something that wasmore culturally deep. i can't really complain since i'm French. but everything that is hispanic, asian, polynesian or native american is just so exotic and culturally influenced. (i'm exhausted right now)

today at work was ok, though it turned out a bit on the horrendous side. i don't like it when people whine or demand something they can't get. STOP ACTING LIKE YOU'RE 5!!!!! i don't have the patience and my friends should know not to pull that crap with me. she didn't apologoize so i suppose things will be on hold until she does. perhaps she doesn't know what she should be apologizing for or that she should, you definitely should unless you want to be friends. "i can be cruel, i don't know why..." well said Tori Amos.

anyhow, a few more days o' work and then i am finished. for those who are feeling i have forgotten you, don't. letter writing will resume soon!!!

inspired?

the 4th was fun. i went over to my friend Mary's house and we went to the pool, watched a movie D.E.B.S. (which was so sweet and cute...a slight lesbian love story line that i dug) while eating sandwiches that i brought along. then we went down to my other friends Robin's house and hung out and then we left. walked over to my house (about a 30-45min. walk) and hung out and i changed clothes, watched some stupid kids with firecrackers and then got a ride from my cool Cambodian friend Nakry and ate Thai food. then afterwards we all went back to Mary's place and Nakry did makeup on us (i got my eyebrows tweaked and it hurt). took pictures and giggled. very reminiscent of high school/middle school days. then i got dropped off at my house. a fight ensued. i cried myself to sleep. but all is ok now. is it ever really??

last night i finally saw the movie, Treading Water. it was a sweet, realistic lesbian movie. i like to see lesbians in love in movies. it secretly gives me hope. i am in love. i just wish love wasn't so hard.

my 4th wasn't too bad. i had fun nevertheless.

6.29.2006

atlanta.

i was just reading the online version of creative loafing of Atlanta and i was reminded of all the fun, adventure and heartbreak that i endured while living there. perhaps i can regail my audience with my tales.

i moved there in 1985 or so (but i was born there in 1979) and in my high school years (1993-1997) i would drive to Little 5 or Virginia Highlands (when it was cool) and hang out. i had my outside of school friends who all ended up being punk musicians of some sort. many of my boyfriends were in a band of some sort. i should have tried out but i was way more shy then than i am now. the only one who wanted to try out was Keefe. anyhow, i grew up mostly in Duluth which was about 20-30min north of the city. i had my spots along Peachtree Blvd that i used to go to. Waffle House, a lot of antique stores, HMV music at Lennox Sq., sometimes to UGA in Athens, always Best Buy, Borders (which no longer exists), Gwinnett Place Mall especially the Sanrio store. those were days. i was solitary a lot of the time.

when i graduated i went to Brenau University in Gainesville (an all women's college, which sounded convincing when my college counselour told my parents) and roommed with a weird British gal, Sam which ended in disaster. then i made friends with a girl name Katie (the first gal i slept with) and then she dropped out. the adjoining room that shared the bathroom was Sara, who at the time was timid and a bit square. but she was cool and we hung out all the time. then i fell in love with her. we went everywhere together. so the heartbreak is that. after she returned from NYC she dumped me.

i could say that my life in ATL is bittersweet. i wish i had known myself better when i was in high school. perhaps i would've been happier. mostly what i picture about Atlanta was driving the highways at night. either coming from work in Brookhaven or driving to Gainesville. or just driving around at night to think. i picture the long stretch of road, the lights of other cars, bulidings, highway lights (especially in Peachtree Corners). yeah its bittersweet. but i learned and experienced life that is sometimes good and bad but one does learn.

heaven.

[heaven] los lonely boys

this song reminds me of lying somewhere in the sun with a cool breeze brushing your face. too much island life i suppose. there are many who do not have a grassy place to lie down. perhaps on the carpet in one's house with the window open. its so mellow.

i was thinking about doing a summer and winter compilation that i would send out or at least a top whatever music that i dig. if anyone wants a copy then comment me. i'm trying to fill up my time with music stuffs.

as for the personal, i am ding extremely well. i couldn't be happier. though it feels as if i'm living in the oven of hell, its so HOT. i suppose its typical for this time of the year. everything seems to have fallen into place so i'm psyched. in other great news, France qualified for the 2nd round winning 2:0 against Togo. and my vacation is in 2 months!!!!!!! i suppose it is quite unlikely that France may win the Cup but i'm not giving up.

reflections.

i do have to confess that after watching the loving love scene in "Its In the Water" and listening to this song that i've been hung up on my first. i hurt her a lot as i have so many other women that i've loved. i think that i try to sabotage my happiness so that i can pay for the hurt i've caused. i know that things between my first and i will never be again. i had my chance at 19. i know that she doesn't want anything to do with me. all i can romanticize is the brief time we had together when i was the happiest with a woman. we loved each other so greatly and purely. she loved me purely. i miss having someone looking at me the way she did or finding me beautiful and sexy. desireble. i miss that look. i threw it all away. for nothing and immaturity. so i'd like to scream a thousand sorry's to all i've loved: Sara, Andrea and the other.

Reflections by Diana Ross and the Supremes

Through the mirror of my mind
Time after time
I see reflections of you and me

Reflections of,
The way life used to be
Reflections of,
The love you took from me

Oh, I'm all alone now
No love to shield me
Try in a world that's...
A distorted reality

Happiness you... took from me
And left me alone
With only memories
Through the mirror of my mind
Through each tear that I've cried
Reflects the hurt I can't control

'Cause although you're gone
I keep holdin' on
To the happy times
Ooh, when you were mine

As I peer through the window
Of lost time
Looking over my yesterdays
And all the love I gave all in vain

All the love
All the love that I've wasted
All those tears
All the tears that I've tasted
All in vain

Through the hollow of my tears
I see a dream that's lost
From the hurt,
That you have caused
Everywhere I turn,
Seems like everything I see
Reflects the love that used to be

In you I put
All my faith and trust
And right before my eyes
My world has turned to dust

After all the nights
I sat alone on wept
Just a handfull of promises
Are all that's left, of loving you

Reflections of,
The way life used to be
Reflections of,
The love you took from me
In you I put, all my faith and trust
And right before my eyes
My world has turned to dust

how.

the last few days i've had some things going on in my head. i'm soon to be going through some life changing things so bare with me as i try to figure all of it out. life can be so all-consuming sometimes and it can get pretty crazy.

it seems most of my friends are married and having babies. i am still in the eternal non-baby and non-marriage category, for 6yrs now. thats one of the things that heavily weighs. one day it will change.

as for the fun, fun stuff going on: the 2006 FIFA World Cup Soccer is upon us again. i am going for the French team so we'll see what happens. if they don't do well, i can always watch the 1998 FIFA World Cup when they beat Brazil to win the cup. you know i have the DVD!

and if all else fails...rock it out!

haunted by poe

Ba da pa pa ba da pa pa...

Come here
Pretty please
Can you tell me where I am
You won't you say something
I need to get my bearings
I'm lost
And the shadows keep on changing

And I'm haunted
By the lives that I have loved
And actions I have hated
I'm haunted
By the lives that wove the web
Inside my haunted head

Ba da pa pa ba da pa pa...

Don't cry,
There's always a way
Here in November in this house of leaves
We'll pray
Please, I know it's hard to believe
To see a perfect forest
Through so many splintered trees
You and me
And these shadows keep on changing

And I'm haunted
By the lives that I have loved
And actions I have hated
I'm haunted
By the promises I've made
And others I have broken
I'm haunted
By the lives that wove the web
Inside my haunted head

Hallways... always
I'll always want you
I'll always need you
I'll always love you
And I will always miss you

Ba da pa pa ba da pa pa...

Come here
No I won't say please
One more look at the ghost
Before I'm gonna make it leave
Come hereI've got the pieces here
Time to gather up the splinters
Build a casket for my tears

I'm haunted
(By the lives that I have loved)
I'm haunted
(By the promises I've made)
I'm haunted
By the hallways in this tiny room
The echos there of me and you
The voices that are carrying this tune

Ba da pa pa...

epidemic.

today i watched the movie, "After Stonewall", which documents the happenings and history of the Gay and Lesbian movement from 1970's til now. of course alot of it has to do with the AIDS epidemic and it makes me sad. it makes me think of my uncle who is infected and how he is dealing with it. he's had it since i was in 7th grade, at 13, and now i'm 27. he's still alive and has a family. i just think how scary it must be to live with something that will eventually kill you. i also think about the many unknown people in the world who have dies from it and are infected.

for all of the hetero, gay men and lesbian women: please use protection when having sex. 10 seconds of pleasure isn't worth dying for! and if you are infected, don't be ashamed but instead be vocal!! silence = death

i know i am but a small blog that a handfull of people read, but hopefully the ones that do read this may be more aware!

5.16.2006

poem.

Passing by Judith Barrington

Light-fingered wind teases our bare skin
as we stride with an easy rhythm

for two good miles, breasting the hill
in shorts, socks and dusty boots

between salmon-pink ponderosas
crusty bark, etched with black.

At an unexpected bend in the trail
we stop, face to face with strangers-

the woman in front, shielding him
from our bare breasts and clumsiness.

In the blazing sun, the red bandanna
drags over my eyes, the hasty shirt

catches my sunglasses; i blush;
i curse, needing to pass.

The shirtless man mumbles
close to me on the foot-wide trail

and i cover my sweaty breasts-
blushing and cursing and passing.

5.11.2006

this song has been in my head and in my heart. thinking about my parents farm in rural WA makes me want to claim the open land and the open sky.

Home on the Range, sung by Tori Amos

(Home, home on the range)
Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam
Where the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day.

Home home on the range
Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam
Where the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day.

Oh, give me a land where the bright diamond sand
Flows lazily down the stream
Where the graceful white swan goes a gliding along
Like a maid in a heavenly dream.

Home home on the range
Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam
Where the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day...

5.04.2006

just remember i love you.

i see all around me people with full lives. not necessarily productive but full and busy. i keep waiting to start mine, at 27. i do nothing real with my time. today i made stationary, but thats about it. i move from one little project obsession to another. plus there are my correspondances from varied US locations. but those are fleeting things. i don't have a concrete day to day thing. like my dad said, he would be miserable if he had my life. i am but masking it quite well. i work, come home and watch tv and putter online, eat, watch the Godfather video game being played and then pass out. thats almost daily. yikes!

str8 friends, gay woman.

i have somewhat of a dilemna. all of my friends are str8 and i'm gay. now its not like i don't love, appreciate and like my str8 friends. its just that sometimes its hard for me to wholeheartedly relate to their lives and them to mine. mostly to mine.

now with lesbians things get a bit tricky. i have a small few that live mostly on the mainland (that's the NorthAmerican continent to the rest of you) scattered about. but basically none here in HI. perhaps what i crave the most is jus
t contact and the easiness of talking and relating to a fellow lesbian. where is everyone?? i know that there are some here in Maui. but they are scattered about as well and dramatic. ask about Pride 2004 for details. still it isn't easy when i need occasional reassurance to be proud of who i am.

i am proud in my own gayness. i just wish to not feel so alone nor the only gay woman i know.

4.20.2006

my favorite poem.

The Narrows by Jim Carroll

That is the way you are, always given
to silence. so I don’t care anymore
about these green leaves in my carpet
about the death of an historical figure
about your voice.

you were thinking about a red curtain
that we might hide behind. I was
thinking about the freedom of your shadow,
last night, when this livid sky unfolded
its vault of a thousand swords and the air
we were breathing seemed our own.

I’m glad that you’re able to breathe
I’m glad that you’re able to distinguish me
from the lights along the thruway.
I mean don’t both of us illuminate
the direction which you are taking?
and don’t both weep nervously above
the moist pavement where you move.

I’d like to watch myself holding you
above the cool shore of something really vast
like a vast sea, or ocean.
and when I was through watching
I’d become someone else, seducing the heavy
waters, allowing nothing to change.
as the sands are changing and night comes
and we’re not aware of all this endlessness,
which is springing up like The Moonlight Sonata
ascending from the glare of a thousand frightened moans.

fire.

tonights sunset was like this. to me it reminds me of volcanic lava spilling into the sky. the colors here are so amazing!

ok so i've just begin to realize after much self-loathing that i am a sad little gal. perfectly goth without the makeup and dark drab. goth is spirit. i need to remedy this situation.

4.16.2006

the whole truth.

well the absolute truth is that the rape does still bother me and raises a lot of questions. like am i really gay or am i gay because i am afraid of men. i am but only in the attacking thing. i think i am gay cos i LOVE women but i wish that i had discovered that part of me a long, long time ago. its all a confusing mess. but it does blur my view of sexuality. i see it as forceful and nonfeeling and of dealing with the mechanics of the body. love, sensuality doesn't enter my mind when i picture sex or making love. to me a full loving relationship, in my mind and not in reality, doesn't include sex. i can't put the two in the same picture. sex in a way in brutality.

4.14.2006

the absolute truth.

in the last few days i have encountered a lot of news about rape and sexual abuse and shows like Law and Order: SVU (special victims unit) take real stories and fictionalize them. what i'm trying to relay is that this world is becoming quite predatory towards the sexes. mostly women as 80% of people who are victimized.

i am 27 now in 2006. in 1993 when i was 14 i was raped on vacation. now i will keep the sordid details to myself. now some 13 yrs later and quite a few sexual encounters later (that i will also keep to myself) i have come to the realization that i am still realing from my "experience". i'll never quite get over it for it has turned me into the sexually free person that i am. sexually free does not mean i'm a whore. its just that i'm liberated in my thinking. i'm not one to judge about other people's sexual practices. the rape and possible childhood molestation (i have flashbacks but i can't put the whole story together) has shaped the way i look at my own sexuality. i used to have this rape fantasy in my head for when and how i would have sex again. forced. painfull. psychologically i can disconnect myself from the act and the person.

in high school i did fall into the promiscuity pool but a few loving relationships later, i have learned to give of myself through emotion and spiritual depth instead of sexually. i suppose the things we are exposed to in our past never really leaves you. this will forever be my demon. it may possess me or lay dormant, but it will always be there.

i do not ask for sympathy or words of consulation from anyone. this isn't a pity party and i don't need anyone to feel bad for me. this is what happened a very long time ago and it is a part of who i am. it doesn't make it ok. but it is what it is.

thank you for letting me share this.

3.31.2006

disturbances.

last night about 12am i heard some shouting in my neighborhood which is usually quiet and peaceful. i walked to the bottom of my driveway and saw 3 people. a man was threatening to kill this other man because he supposely slept with the wife. there was some pushing and then the husband pushed his wife down and i dialed 911. the police patroled the the street and then about 15 minutes later they booked it through my neighborhood with sirens and everything. i hope everything worked out ok.

now my asshole of a landlord is putting in blinds in my apartment and in the meanwhile he is looking through our cabinets and drawers for a knife and then using my windex. when i asked him if the windex was his he stopped and said no and then i told hime how rude it was for him to go through my things. he tried in a lame-ass way to justify it but i squashed it. i think its rude for people to just go through another person's things. am i wrong??

i don't get people who have no manners or common descency.

3.27.2006

out there by the blake babies

You drive around aimlessly.
Don’t know what you hope to see.
You know it’s stupid.

I see you when I pass you by.
I’m afraid to meet your eye.
I know it’s stupid.

You have a voice, you have a phone,
But you’re usually alone.
You know it’s stupid.
I have a body and a brain,
But I turn them off again...again.
I know it’s stupid.

There’s nothin’ to do.I
t’s so hard to talk to you
And people never do what they want to.
I don’t know what and I don’t know where,
But I know it’s out there.
It must be out there somewhere.
I’m gonna leave this place.
Gonna’ leave this life of waste.
Gonna’ put on a new face.

Where was I before?
I’m not there anymore.
Went away and tried to come back.
Maybe I shouldn’t have done that.

There’s nothin’ to do.
It’s so hard to talk to you
And people never do what they want to.
I don’t know what and I don’t know where,
But I know it’s out there.
It must be out there somewhere.

There’s nothin’ to do.
It’s so hard to talk to you
And people never do what they want to.
I don’t know what and I don’t know where.
There’s nothing out there.
It’s not out there anywhere.
I’m gonna’ leave this town.
Gonna’ leave it like I found it.
Gonna’ turn myself around.

bothered.

i've been feeling a little blue lately. at first i couldn't figure it out mainly cos in my life i have gone through blue periods that i had nothing to be blue about. i don't really now. i have a house, a job, some money, two adorable kitty cats and my parents, friends and someone who loves me and whom i love back. but something is always amiss. maybe its the love that i give and is given to that makes me saddened. this love i think will never go beyond what we have now. i want so much more. i suppose the rainy-ish weather is to blame as well. who knows actually.

online classes start in a week. i'm psyched about it so that it'll keep me busy for a while. i feel so alone sometimes. like i could be sitting next to someone and feel like an island in the middle of the ocean surrounded by nothing but blue. blue ocean, blue sky. inside i feel so alone.

letters.

so here are two things that i have acquired as of recent:

a stationary basket and a fountain pen box. all in the Victorian style.

so here is a dilemna, who is it that i shall write to?? i suddenly realized that i have no real keeper of my thoughts (besides myself). i did but i think that my membership has lapsed and she has a busy life anyhow. but is that a real excuse for not contacting one's friends? perhaps it is maybe that my life is too lax. i have somewhat an incredible amount of time to putter around writing people. but it is a waste of stamps when people don't write back. sorry to gripe. this knowing makes me sad. i am back to me once again.

films, part 2.

i saw two more films.

1. Wedding Crashers: lewd and funny. very funny.

2. Imagine You & Me: what can i say about this movie that i didn't love. it was sweet lesbian movie where in this case the girl did ditch her husband for the girl. now when does that ever happen.

it was a sweet romance that followed the typical lesbian romance recipe: str8 girl sees gay girl, str8 girl has infatuated crush on gay girl, gay girl falls for str8 girl, str8 girl tries to deal with feelings for gay girl, str8 girl tells husband about feelings for gay girl, husband leaves str8 girl and str8 girl begins love with gay girl. and somewhere in the middle they kiss and make out. everyone should see this if you are of the GLBT persuasion.

blue train- john coltrane

films i've watched in the last two days:

1. Rent: it was ok though 45 min into it i got bored and found out that i am not so much into the musical/movie genre, i.e. Chicago.

2. Hustle & Flow: it was good, i think the media hyped it up to be a much better movie than it was. good music though

3. Prime: a cute and funny romantic comedy. i liked it.

4. Two for the Money: a good movie, basically what it boils down to is that one shouldn't try to be someone they are not.

5. Walk the Line: if you don't like country music, you will after seeing this. it's a great movie with great performances and storyline.

6. Lord of War: who knew arms dealing was so crazy and hardcore and a bullshitting kind of job!

more.

my wish is tobe able to write like the tori amos, sylvia plath, leslea newman, david sedaris and jim carroll. to be able to reach down deep inside to a place that hurts and bleeds and becomes crushingly happy and painstakingly in love. to give the whole truth and nothing else. to live by it and just write out your heart and soul. to give myself, all of myself until there is nothing left and then wring myself out to squeeze out every last drop like a lemon. bitter and sweet and sour. and then after i am all squeezed, i still come out writing more and more. there will always be more. but i don't really need to write like anyone else but myself.

xm 90's alternative

so here is a debate i heard when watching CNN tonight:
Q: if a man and a woman make a baby through unprotected sex, should the man be able to decide if he wants or doesn't want to support a child?
A: (my answer) i think if you are willing to have sex with a woman, unprotected, then you should have to own up to the consequences that follow. this is a clear consequence of that situation and the result of a man's unmanliness to own up to his mistakes and effects.

ok thats my little political thing. other than that, everything here is ok. work has again resumed at a sloooooooow pace. i'm bored to death of my everyday routine. but all will change as it always does. i have nothing to really share so i will go. aloha!

the first day back.

[bring me to life]: evanescence

it was a very weird day. i felt like i had to constantly watch my back. make sure i made no mistakes. i still feel hurt and backstabbed and fucked over. i'm extremely sad and thinking those thoughts again. whats the point of all this, if the same results happen in every diff situation??i just don't get it.

3.01.2006

worse to good.

[wash my hands]: meredith brooks

so here are some fun updates: the day after i did get my kick-ass planner from the library. after 6 days or so of sitting around and looking for work, my "job" called me this morning and said that i had my job back. and i start tomorrow. i am happy but a bit hurt and saddenned. this week was a HARDCORE rollercoaster ride.

but i'm ok now. i think i did lose weight with the worrying, stress and depression that hit me all at once. the ride is over and i'm getting off!

2.23.2006

bad to worse.

i had a HORRENDOUS day today. all was ok until i was about to leave to go home and then i got written up and suspended on some stupid and untrue accusations. they are not true. but i am suspended until further notice. so i'm mad, sad and feel like sh*t. only to make matters worse, i just saw that i had dropped my dayplanner in the library slot after the write up incident. i guess i was so POed that i dropped EVERYTHING into the slot. which at the time i was wondering why my backpack was extremely light. but i wanted to go home. so i'm worried cos my LIFE is in that. my addresses and the such. i hope its there. so that means i have to go there tomorrow to pick up my stuff. can anything else bad happen??

2.13.2006

a busy week.

[fever]- ella fitzgerald

ok so this week was a busy one. the sunday before yesterday i painted a bedroom, then there was work and more work. on wednesday there were the Grammy's with a KICK-ASS performance by the great Madonna (i am now hooked on her new album). Thursday i went home early due to a bad migraine at work and made about 3 cd's. Friday was the day of fun, Olympic Ceremony time! i cried again as the athlete shuffled past the spectators and when i saw N. and S. Korea march as one i lost it (again!). Saturday was work and so was Sunday. Sunday night i went shopping for a few clothing items mainly Billabong tshirts for the faux surfer in me. then today i slept (i've been sleeping a lot lately, which isn't normal for me) a few hours and then watched some tv, started laundry and cleaning out my closet and drawers. then tomorrow i work and start another work week!

fun trivia fact: the t-shirt (as we know it today) was first popularized during WWI and then WWII. in the 1950's it became a cultural phenomenom by the likes of Marlon Brando and James Dean. for women, it was popularized in the 1960's during the "sexual revolution". t-shirts were made for the Navy dept. but then in the 1930's companies such as Sears, Hanes and Fruit of the Loom made the shirts.

2.04.2006

truths.

ok so i am not officially moving as of yet or anytime soon. instead i have traded in a plane ticket and a moving truck for a car (in the near future) and going to MCC in the fall. maybe i'll be that sexy librarian that everyone imgines me to be. or at least the one that i imagine. with all of that out of the way, i'd like to say that i am starting on a project of painting my apartment (with help) starting this monday. the color schemes are cream color in the living area and halls and kitchen and then in the bedrooms and bathroom a nice light jade green color. hopefully if this doesn;t prove to be disasterous pictures will be forthcoming! other than that i am doing ok. i've felt a bit emotionally unbalanced for a bit but i think i'm ok now. i love you all!!

a bientot!

1.18.2006

dream on.

i'm getting closer and closer to realizing my want. but also closer to hurting someone that needs me but not necessarily wants me. i feel bad for hurting someone, i don't like hurting people but i have to do this or else i'll be stuck in this hell of an island. i hate it here and loathe that i have to work where i do. i need some wide open spaces. i liked the feel of the crisp cold air against my face. its cold but a great change from 80* everyday. someone has to get hurt no matter how i cushion it with words.

1.14.2006

and we also went to a Native American Museum/ Cultural Center in Pendleton, Ore today. it was so beautiful and sad. visit it here: http://www.umatilla.nsn.us/ they are the Umatilla, Walla Walla and Cayuse tribes that live on the reservation.

1893.

this week in WA has been quite magical. my dad and i did a lot of driving around the countryside with rolling hills in cold 40* weather. the light and dark landscapes were like a painting with the sun shining through the clouds. i saw many a farm, some small with horses and some big with horses and cows, bulls, etc. i also so some deers, wild turkeys, plenty of dogs, chickens and cranes. it was so nice to get back to nature. i saw the Columbia and Snake Rivers winding through the coutryside. i visited two colleges, saw 2 bookstores, was driven for hours, ate 3 square meals a day with almost no caffeine and felt slightly sluggish, walked atop the Whitman Mission Memorial and had a fantastic view of the snow-capped mountains and rolling hills.

then it happened. my parents saw a small farm house they want to buy that dates from 1893, original house, and i fell in love with WA state. i believe that 2006 is my year!

freeway by linda perry

Can you see me
In the garden
Watering flowers all night long

Taking care of what you neglected
And I do it with a happy song

Can you feel your guardian angel
Guiding you so patiently
And you wonder if you're in heaven
‘cause you move so gracefully

Welcome tomorrow
Where we flow us gently

Didn't we know
Didn't we feel it
The time to seems to stop
Outside our window

And we ride, down the freeway
Hoping to express our religion
To be free
Of everything

With my friends, sitting around drinking
Talking about how life is much too long
How some days everything's just so right
And the next day everything just seems so wrong

Laughing while complaining
But having a good time
it didn't really matter

Welcome tomorrow
Where we flow us gently

At two O'Clock in the morning
The lights go on
It's time for us to go

And the last thing I can remember,
Was an angel guiding us right through the door
Yeah, Yeah

Laughing while complaining
But having a good time
it didn't really matter
it really doesn't matter

Welcome tomorrow
Where we flow us gently

Didn't we knowDidn't we feel it
The time to seems to stop
Outside our window

And we ride, down the freeway
Hoping to express our religion

Didn't we know
Didn't we feel it
The time to seems to stop
Outside our window

And we run down the freeway
Didn't we know
Didn't we feel it
How time it seems to stop
Outside our window

And we run, down the freeway
Hoping to express our religion
To be free, Of everything
Of everything, Yeah

ordinary people by john legend

Girl im in love with you
This ain't the honeymoon
Past the infatuation phase
Right in the thick of love
At times we get sick of love
It seems like we argue everyday

[Bridge]

I know i misbehave
And you made your mistakes
And we both still got room left to grow
And though love sometimes hurts
I still put you first
And we'll make this thing work
But I think we should take it slow

[Chorus]

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow

This ain't a movie no
No fairy tale conclusion ya'll
It gets more confusing everyday
Sometimes it's heaven sent
We head back to hell again
We kiss and we make up on the way

[Bridge]

I hang up you call
We rise and we fall
And we feel like just walking away
But as our love advances
We take second chances
Though it's not a fantasy
I Still want you to stay

[Chorus]

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow

Take it slow
Maybe we'll live and learn
Maybe we'll crash and burn
Maybe you'll stay, maybe you'll leave, maybe you'll return
Maybe you'll never find
Maybe we won't survive
But maybe we'll grow
We never know baby youuuu and I

[Chorus]

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go(hey)
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow
(Heyyy) We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow take it sloww take it slow this time we'll take it slow take

leaving on a jet plane.

today is the day that i start my vaca. i'm excited with butterflies in my tummy and am all packed and all i have to do is shower and dress and head out the door. last night was an amazing night....i felt so disconnected for so long and it was just nice. not to say that the same old problems don't exist. they are still there. but it was a great way to start my vacation. it'll be a nice i'm-freezing-my-ass-off change. i will update from time to time while away. wish me luck on my trip!!

1.03.2006

where do i begin.

i'm almost finished with my alice in chains cd compilation. next is black sabbath. now i can listen to some heavy music while i sort out my distressing life. boredom mixed with no passion. feel empty inside. i need to fill myself with sunlight and warmth. not this eternal winter of cold steel. i know that the best has been given. i can't ask for anymore than what i have. i can't give anymore that what i've given. i'm completely empty and bone dry. so how do i pick up the pieces to move? i think i will check out therapy. it really couldn't hurt. maybe it'll revive the girl inside of me, of who i used to be. maybe i'll come out of this. or maybe i'm too damaged to fix. all of these maybe babies. i know that this vacation that starts in about 4 days will do me a world of good. i just have to focus on that while i work for the next three days at my horrid job. wish me luck.
